Tomorrow, May 14, is National Buttermilk Biscuit Day!  If you’re a Southern gal like me, just the thought of a hot buttered biscuit can make you grin from ear to ear! I grew up on homemade biscuits and gravy that my momma made from scratch.  And, before her, my Nanny (my dad’s mom) was the matriarch of biscuit-making.  My dad says she made biscuits EVERY DAY!

Blueberries Lower Heart Attack Risk for Women

According to new research, including blue and red fruits and vegetables into your daily diet rotation could help to lower risk of heart attack.  This research published in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association, showed that women in the study who ate these berries – such as blueberries - most often had a 32 percent lower heart attack risk than women who only ate the berries once a month, or not at all.

April 22nd is Earth Day!  What better way to celebrate than to spend some time outside? My family has been enjoying the outdoors so much the last couple of weeks.  We love to bike, hike, picnic and visit the local farmer’s markets to pick up some local treats.

New research suggests blueberries may reduce heart attack risk in women
